One of Those Days

Sometimes I find myself feeling a bit like our Basset looks in this picture, these days. But I felt like today was the time to share about why...well first off, I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant. YEAH, almost done with the first trimester. So maybe the vomiting can stop now, but if it never does...I wanted to Thank God for giving us such a special gift. We don't know what this punkin will be yet, but we have prayed for 2 years that God would allow us to conceive. And when we'd almost given up-well not Daddy, but me-GOD is GOD! So no matter the sickness, or downing the dry soda crackers, my heart is filled with Joy. To hear this baby's heartbeat, and know that God is Real. There's a scripture that says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Ps. 37:4. I don't think that means He gives us what we demand, but I believe it means when we find Him, we find the desires He put in us, in our mother's womb. So I am praising God for the way He knew me and the way He knows our child. May Dave and I, hold this new gift in our hands with care, reverence, and honor for God. And most of all may we Be Love for this child, in a world that can seem so confusing and scary sometimes. So vomit or not, YOU ARE MY JOY!

Lil' Peanut in the Ultrasound

Well we had our first ultrasound on Sept. 11th, and I am very happy to say we heard that strong heartbeat. Makes all the sickness I've had worth it. I am 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant, the ultrasound predicted. And we have a due date of around April 10th, which could change once we go to the doctor on Wednesday, we'll see. Here's the pic. I know the baby looks like a blob, but it's our cute lil' blob.

Uncle Buddy

Buddy, is a pug which we inherited when my father in law passed away. He is pretty ugly, which makes him cute-most of the time. He turned 11 yesterday, and I'll be honest...I was a bit disappointed when the vet said last week he looks like he's in better shape. He's lost 4 lbs. thanks to Loretta chasing him around and stealing his food. She said he has more pep too! Well, I do not, because I can't get him to stop rubbing his disgusting EYE BOOGERS on the walls. I want to hurt him, but I refrain. He also sheds like it's his job. Not cool-it really grosses me out. But what can we do? He's Family-Dave says Buddy is his brother from a different mother-so we live with it. Now he has something wrong with his paw and I must take him to the vet. I am not good at taking dogs to the vet, especially old grumpy ones. We'll see how it goes.
