Baby Weber
This Friday the 14th, we get to find out what our little pumpkin is. I'm getting very excited, I hope the baby cooperates, and lets the ultrasound tech show us its sex. I can't wait this is all starting to get pretty real now. I am excited, but I must be starting to get a bit nervous. Last nite I had a dream that I was still in high school, and got pregnant...I didn't know who the father was for sure. WHAT IN THE WORLD??? It's probably a combination of my abstinence education job, and the pregnancy hormones, but talk about weird. I kept saying, that I didn't want to keep it, I was probably going to put it up for adoption. It was weird because in the dream, all these people from high school that I haven't talked to for a while were hanging out with me, and they kept saying we didn't know you were having sex with anyone. WEIRD. Well for the record, I do have sex with my husband and it's his baby-maybe that will let my conscience know not to have that whacked out dream anymore.
I am also posting a picture I took this Fall at Golls Woods. I love Fall, but we had our first snowflakes this week...so looks like fall is nearly done.

T to the D
Just a shout out for Terrance David (TD), my little brother. He's 16 and 6'1", so not so little anymore. I am almost 14 years older than him, but he I still think of him as small. If you click on the link above you can hear some of his original music, he's on his way. WATCH OUT JOHN MAYER...I am so proud of him. He had his first gig at Shorty's BBQ on Monroe Street last weekend, and he did great. I wish him all the best. The pic is Sarah, TD-middle, and my mom. WAY TO GO TD!!! We're all very proud of you.

Uncle Buddy
Buddy, is a pug which we inherited when my father in law passed away. He is pretty ugly, which makes him cute-most of the time. He turned 11 yesterday, and I'll be honest...I was a bit disappointed when the vet said last week he looks like he's in better shape. He's lost 4 lbs. thanks to Loretta chasing him around and stealing his food. She said he has more pep too! Well, I do not, because I can't get him to stop rubbing his disgusting EYE BOOGERS on the walls. I want to hurt him, but I refrain. He also sheds like it's his job. Not cool-it really grosses me out. But what can we do? He's Family-Dave says Buddy is his brother from a different mother-so we live with it. Now he has something wrong with his paw and I must take him to the vet. I am not good at taking dogs to the vet, especially old grumpy ones. We'll see how it goes.Thursday, August 21, 2008
Don't Give Up, Africa!
We have decided not to go to Kenya over Thanksgiving, because a baby is on it's way! I am a bit sad, the last two trips to Africa I've been invited on, I have been able to go. But all is well. I can't imagine being 5 months along and in Africa.
The picture is of my friend's child, Grace and Pastor Peter Adigwe from Nigeria. I just thought it was cool, so I did a bit of editing, my new obsession. I often wonder what the world could be like if we all had to hold hands for a few minutes. When I was a kid and my brother and I fought, my mom would make us hug until we liked each other again. We would start out squeezing each other so tight, to see who could squeeze the tightest and "hurt" the other because we were so angry, but by the time we were finished ...we'd laughed so hard we were crying and rolling on the floor. Friends AGAIN!!! So here's to the future. Don't Give Up, I am hoping that in my lifetime, we will see more peace and grace for each other.

Time for a Haircut

I've had my hair long for quite a while
and I am really starting to think that I would like a "new do." I am thinking a cute bob. In honor of my new haircutting mood, I thought I would post this picture of my brother and I with Vince the Barber. We used to go
to him in our younger days. My brother
loved it as you can see.
Here's to a new haircut, hopefully next week.

Only One Left
Some kids don't have many feelings about their grandparents by the time they get to be my age. I on the other hand, have WONDERFUL grandparents. Yesterday my grandpa Jim passed way, making this the 4th funeral for us in one years time. I lost Papaw Morgan in Sept., my father-in-law in February, a good friend of the family in March, and now Grandpa Jim Reeves yesterday.
Grandma Viv, is the only one left-to love on, to learn from, to be loved by. There is something about the generation of those grandparents, that I find myself longing for more and more. I want to know and learn all I can from her. She raised her 6 kids, 2 nephews, and really helped in raising me too!! I owe a lot to her and my Papaw. She is the only grandparent I have left, so today, slightly saddened by that realization. I wanted to share her beauty with the readers of this blog. Grandparents are a gift, not to be taken for granted.
